Mel's Coated Caramel Apples
Sweet and tart! The flavors you want during the fall time. The taste of fresh crisp apples and creamy sweet caramel will have you melting. You can use so many different flavors like caramel, chocolate, white chocolate, nutty - you make what you want! Follow these easy steps to make the best treat for your family.
Wash your fresh apples well, remove stems, and stick them each with popsicle sticks at the top.
Unwrap all of the caramels and put them in a small sauce pan on medium low heat. Add in 4 tbs of water.
Use your spoon or spatula to stir until there are absolutely no lumps. Watch your pans as the caramel can burn easily.
Once melted, remove from heat. Quickly dip and twirl your apples to coat evenly.
When you finish coating one apple, dip it directly into your crushed nuts (or other toppings).
Place them down on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and let them cool in the fridge to set.
Once Set, It’s Time To Serve!
You can even make mini versions if the whole apple is too much. Simply, slice your apples into bite-sized pieces before dipping them in the mixture and decorating.
