Once you make this version of hot cocoa, you'll be throwing away all those instant packets. This gives your the most accurate flavours of real hot chocolate!
Ingredients
2 1/2 cups milk
3/4 cup heavy cream
pinch of salt
10 oz of finely grated semi-sweet chocolate
1 tsp peppermint extract
cocoa powder
whipped cream
Directions
In a medium sauce pan, combine cream, milk, and salt. Heat and stir until combined well. Bubbles should start to form on the sides, but don't bring it to a boil.
Once your mix is simmering, remove it from the stove and add in your chopped chocolate.
Whisk your mixture until everything has melted completely.
Add in your peppermint extract to taste. Be careful of how much you add in.
Serve your hot chocolate in a mug and top with a sprinkle of cocoa poweder and whipped cream.
